Livingstone Shire Council's in-kind sponsorship fund provides support (either one-off or recurrent) for use of Council-managed parks, reserves, and facilities. This sponsorship provides in-kind support only. No cash funding is available under this category. Applicants seeking financial (cash) contributions should refer to other available Council funding.
Purpose
The in-kind sponsorship fund supports the planning and delivery of community events and initiatives that encourage community connection and contribute to the liveability of Livingstone Shire.
The value of in-kind support is calculated in accordance with Council’s current Fees and Charges Schedule, based on the applicable venue or site hire rate. This information can be found on Council's website.
Please note: Booking administration fees may be applied for in conjunction with an In-kind application. The assessment panel will determine the total value of sponsorship approved. Please specify if you are requesting waiver of administration fees.
Application information
To ensure a fair and timely assessment, applicants must provide complete, accurate, and truthful information in response to all application questions. This enables applications to be assessed against Council’s eligibility criteria.
In-kind sponsorships do not require acquittals.
When to apply
To ensure a smooth process, you should submit your application at least ten weeks before you plan to hold your event. You can submit your application as far as 12 months in advance (this includes requests for recurrent bookings).
Eligibility criteria
Organisations and individuals must meet all of the following criteria:
- Applicants must demonstrate that the main objective/purpose of their organisation provides benefits to the community
- Applicants must demonstrate that their proposed event will provide community benefit
- Applicants must demonstrate that they have limited capacity to raise funds to cover hire fees (if you are applying on behalf of a business and / or plan on charging for tickets to your event for purposes other than fundraising, you will need to pay particular attention to this criteria)
- Applicants must have no outstanding matters before Council (this includes any outstanding acquittals from previously awarded grants)
Applications will be ineligible where / if:
- The applicant organisation does not meet the eligibility criteria
- The application organisation has an existing Memorandum of Understanding for a multi-year event funding agreement with Livingstone Shire Council for the same event
- Application form is not completed in full.
- The applicant organisation has any acquittals outstanding for Livingstone Shire Council-issued grants
Council will not provide in-kind sponsorship for events which:
- Support political or discriminatory ideologies or practices
- Contravene laws and regulations set by Government agencies
- Are not open to the public (e.g., weddings, birthday parties)
